What a lift kit does
A lift kit raises the whole truck, not just the front, and it usually lifts more than a leveling kit. The extra height gives more ground clearance and room for larger tires than a leveling or mid travel kit allows.
Choosing a lift kit
- Lift height. More lift fits bigger tires, but it also raises the center of gravity. Pick the height your tire size and use actually need.
- Shocks. Some kits include new shocks and some reuse or leave them out. Longer-travel shocks are worth it for ride quality once the truck is lifted.
Before you order
- Check the years and drive. Parts are specific to model years and often to 2WD or 4WD. Both are in the product title.
- Plan an alignment. A lift changes suspension and steering geometry, so have the alignment set after install.
