- Rear lift changes the shocks. Lifted leaf packs and longer shackles need longer rear shocks, and some setups move the shock mounts.
- Rear axle. High-output 2004 and 2005 trucks came with different rear axles (a 10-bolt 8.625" in 2004, a 14-bolt 9.5" in 2005). Check that a part lists your axle.
Common questions
Add-a-leaf or blocks? An add-a-leaf lifts the factory pack and adds a little load support. Blocks raise the axle without changing the spring, but tall blocks add axle wrap. A leaf pack built for lift rides best.
Will lift springs still tow? Not always. Some performance packs are built for ride and travel, not heavy loads. Check the listing before you tow or haul.
Do I need a traction bar? On a prerunner with soft springs and real power, a traction bar stops axle wrap and wheel hop.
