Fit check
- Generation. The 2015-2022 trucks and the 2023 redesign take different kits. Match the years in the title.
- Track width. On the 2023 redesign, the Colorado Trail Boss and the Canyon AT4, Denali and Elevation have a wider front track than the WT, LT and Z71, so kits come in wide-track and narrow-track versions.
- ZR2 and AT4X. The ZR2 comes with a 3-inch factory lift and Multimatic DSSV dampers, and many mid travel kits don't fit the ZR2 or AT4X. Check that a kit lists your trim.
Common questions
Does a Trail Boss take the same kit as a Z71? Not on the 2023 redesign. The Trail Boss has the wider front track, so it takes the wide-track version.
Does it lift the rear? No. At LTW, a mid travel kit levels the front and leaves the rear at stock height.
Choosing
- Billet or tubular UCAs. Tubular steel arms cost less. Billet aluminum arms are machined from solid stock and sit at the top of the range.
- Shock size. A 2.5 holds more oil than a 2.0, so it runs cooler and fades less on long washboard.
